Back in 2016, a fantasy TV series hit the scene that was essentially a spiritual blend of The Lord of the Rings and The Wheel of Time. Unfortunately, it only ran for 20 episodes before meeting its premature end—but don't let that stop you from giving it a binge. Back then, Game of Thrones had found its place upon the crown of the entertainment industry, but the fantasy TV genre as a whole hadn't quite found its footing. High fantasy was generally better suited to film, like Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy. Still, there was obviously some potential here.
