After Marvel Studios and Sony negotiated a deal in 2015, Tom Holland was cast as the MCU's official version of Peter Parker, a.k.a. Spider-Man, taking over the role from Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, who'd portrayed the wall-crawler in Sony's prior franchises.
