Whether high, low, or urban, lore is an essential part of the fantasy genre's landscape, as fantasy tends to require more suspension of disbelief than any other genre. While many of the same tropes, like dragons, magic, and quests, feature regularly in some of the biggest fantasy franchises of all time, other great fantasy TV shows prove that dragons are not necessary for a series to be a success.
