Now that the dust has settled on the Paramount Skydance merger, Star Trek is looking to launch a new era of the franchise. For the first time in a decade, Star Trek's TV future is unclear. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will return for two more seasons, ending with a shortened fifth and final outing next year, while Star Trek: Starfleet Academy was abruptly canceled after its season 1 finale, with its previously filmed second season expected to release sometime in 2027. For the time being, no other Trek shows have been announced.
