This Game of Thrones spinoff series revolves around the Targaryen civil war that tore this royal family apart, contributing significantly to their downfall. While it would be nearly 200 years before the Targaryens would lose the Iron Throne, the devastation caused by this war more quickly led to the extinction of dragons in Westeros. Still, this wasn't even the highest price paid.
