When Apple TV announced that it was making a prestige drama series starring Jon Hamm, Mad Men fans got excited to see their favorite chain-smoking, booze-swilling antihero on their television sets again, a decade after AMC’s ‘60s-set advertising saga went off the air. Those fans got even more excited when the details of the series started coming in, and seemed to suggest that Hamm would be playing a very similar role to his Mad Men character: another dark, brooding, rich, unfulfilled, broken man.
