Netflix's live-action remake of Avatar: The Last Airbender returns for season 2 with a reduced episode count. As with most streaming shows, Avatar: The Last Airbender season 1 premiered with a total of eight episodes, chronicling Aang, Katara, and Sokka's early journey through the Earth Kingdom and the Water Tribe. This was a major shift from the original cartoon's nearly 20-episode, 20-minute structure. Still, it made sense for the show's cinematic, action-packed approach, as Aang and the Gaang discovered the extent of the Fire Nation's treachery and came together as a team.
