Prime Video's record-breaking new drama is one of its best book adaptations. Prime Video has already enjoyed a slew of hits this year, including Guy Ritchie's Young Sherlock, The Boys' fifth (and final) season, Invincible season 4, and Nicolas Cage's recently released Spider-Man spinoff, Spider-Noir. While all of these shows have deserved their success, their becoming hits wasn't particularly surprising. Detectives and superheroes always sell. Instead, this year's true dark horse has come from a more modest genre, as the first season of a brand-new book adaptation has taken Prime's streaming charts and the world by storm.
