Almost 30 years later, Marvel Studios has the perfect opportunity to pay off an original series tease with X-Men '97 season 2. The first season of the popular revival series did a great job of balancing nostalgia with exciting new storytelling, adapting major comics arcs while featuring exciting new synergies between mutant heroes. However, season 2 can finally pay off a handful of teases that were made in the original X-Men animated series for one of the franchise's most popular characters of all time: Deadpool.
