Star Warsis a franchise known, in part, for its retcons, and while that has at times meant brilliant additions, like Ahsoka Tano being introduced as Anakin Skywalker's never-before-seen Padawan or the clone inhibitor chips being used to explain Order 66, there are just as many examples of this causing trouble for the franchise. While some may be ready to call out Disney for having this effect on Star Wars movies and TV shows, the truth is, this has been a part of Star Wars from the very beginning.
