When The Handmaid's Tale premiered in 2017, it was quick to become one of Hulu's biggest original hits, and though interest in the series waned as it continued, its sequel has taken up the mantle as one of the platform's most watchable shows. Built on the foundation of Margaret Atwood's landmark novel, The Handmaid's Tale felt like something so far beyond what viewers could imagine upon its release, as the story unwound over the course of seasons, it became more of a realizable reality. Continuing the story didn't feel like a necessity, but The Testamentshas been an incredible surprise.
