A two-part martial arts saga from one of the pioneers of the genre makes for a worthy follow-up to Mortal Kombat II. The highly anticipated sequel to 2021's Mortal Kombat, the second movie released in theaters on May 8. For now, whether it's deemed a success at worldwide box office remains to be seen, but as for its reception among fans, it appears to be a bonafide hit.
