Since the start of the MCU, Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury has been seen as the linchpin of the universe, and for good reason. Fury makes his debut in the post-credits scene of Iron Man, the first MCU movie, teasing what is to come. He shows up in Iron Man 2 and Captain America: The First Avenger and Thor as well. And finally, he brings the heroes together in Avengers. Without Fury, the team would not exist, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe would look very different.
