The MCU finally has the perfect excuse to show the one Spider-Man scene we haven't seen in the franchise in its entire run so far thanks to the story of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Because of the popularity of Spider-Man's prior Marvel movies - and because the hero was introduced as an established hero in-universe in Captain America: Civil War - the MCU timeline has followed a different trajectory than prior film franchises featuring Spider-Man when it comes to the character's overall story.
