Daredevil: Born Again has replaced one of the best characters from the original Marvel show with someone who has a surprising connection to Venom. This is even though Venom is a character ostensibly under Sony's purview, with the character's solo trilogy grossing over $1 billion for Sony and blowing all other installments of Sony's Spider-Man franchise out of the water. While it is highly unlikely that Venom will appear in Daredevil: Born Again, the fact that it features so many characters tied to Spider-Man's mythos, including Daredevil and Kingpin, speaks to the connectedness of New York-based Marvel heroes.
