The 2025 genre-blending psychological thriller-comedy Companion has received overwhelmingly positive reviews, earning a Rotten Tomatoes score of 93%. Companion's positive reviews make it one of the best films of the new year in a month that has historically offered some of the least compelling new theatrical releases, such as 2024's Night Swim (20% on Rotten Tomatoes) and the recent Mark Wahlberg villain effort in Flight Risk (24% on Rotten Tomatoes).
