Supernatural has only one way to rescue Dean Winchester's controversial death if a future season 16 ever happens. Despite wrapping up in 2020, more Supernatural feels inevitable sooner or later, with lead actors Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki both expressing interest in returning under the right circumstances. The cancelation of The Winchesters, meanwhile, strongly suggests Supernatural has no future as a franchise without Sam and Dean. Supernatural season 16, therefore, appears destined to become a reality at some point.
