The British black comedy series Sweetpea delivered during its first season in late 2024, and now it is set to return for season 2 soon. Based on the book series by CJ Skuse, Sweetpea concerns an unassuming administrative assistant (Ella Purnell) who unleashes her violent side after the death of her father. Playing on many of the tropes of the female rage revenge subgenre, Sweetpea turns everything on its ear by being shocking while also delivering a lot of morbid laughs. The so-called "coming-of-rage" show was billed as a miniseries, but there was clearly a plan in place to continue.
