An unsolved mystery from its predecessor resurfaced in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, and once again, no answer was apparent. Bio-exorcist Betelgeuse (Michael Keaton) reprises his favorite role of haunting Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder). Only now, she is a mother herself to angsty teen Astrid (Jenna Ortega). The Deetzs family might have thought Betelgeuse was dead and buried at the end of the original 1988 Beetlejuice film. Not only is he back, he has the same goal of making Lydia his eternal bride. Betelgeuse will do anything to make his dream come true, no matter how deadly.
