At the end of 3:10 to Yuma, Dan Evans (Christian Bale) gave his son, William (Logan Lerman) an important item, but the Western doesn't make it overly clear what that was or why it was so special. Though it's a remake of a 1957 Western, 3:10 to Yuma is even better than the original, and it's even one of Russell Crowe's best action movies. Part of the reason it surpassed its source material is because 3:10 to Yuma is layered with symbolism, emotion, and important character moments. One of those moments, however, wasn't completely clear.
