The famous pro-wrestling family at the center of The Iron Claw changed their name from Adkisson to Von Erich, but the 2023 sports biopic doesnt delve into the reasoning behind their ring name change. Written and directed by Sean Durkin, The Iron Claw tells the true story of the real-life Von Erich family, a wrestling dynasty from Texas whose lives were so ridden with tragedy that their lineage was believed to be cursed. The family curse took the lives of all but one of the six Von Erich brothers in real life, with only the second-eldest, Kevin, surviving today.
