A major cast update in Tron: Ares is even more exciting considering the actor's current hiatus. A behind the scenes image of Tron 3 confirmed that Jeff Bridges will be involved in the highly anticipated follow up to 2010's Tron: Legacy, which is currently expected to be released on October 10, 2025. Tron: Ares will be directed by Joachim Rnning, best known for his success with directing previous Disney blockbusters such as Pirates of the Carribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017) and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019).
