American Horror Story has run for over a dozen seasons, but its first outing remains one of the best. Showrunner Ryan Murphy took the world by storm in 2011 with the anthology's first installment, retroactively subtitled Murder House, thanks to a star-studded ensemble cast, tight 12-episode release, and uniquely terrifying premise. Beyond cementing the series as the decade's best horror show,American Horror Story: Murder House laid the foundation for the lasting success of the anthology at large. With such a strong starting point, it's no surprise that Murder House has remained a nostalgic gold mine for the series.
