When Disney+ launched in 2019, its biggest attraction was having the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Star Wars franchise, and Disney's enormous library of animated movies and shows in one place. Throw in decades of beloved Disney Channel originals, and the service immediately had an instant appeal the moment it debuted. However, this also meant that Disney+ initially seemed more like a destination for established franchises than a home of original standalone content.
