Earthrealm's champions may still get a chance to assemble in Mortal Kombat 3, as the prospects of the sequel happening look a lot better now. Warner Bros. relaunched the fighting video game movie franchise in 2021 and continued it five years later with Mortal Kombat II's release. The studio showed great confidence in it by gifting it a prime summer release date, hoping the R-rated series would grip audiences.
