For the past few years, two of the biggest shows on Netflix have easily been their live-action adaptations of One Piece and Avatar: The Last Airbender; as adaptations of two of the most popular animated shows of all time, one an anime and one a cartoon, not only were they major hits on Netflix from day one, but Netflix, understanding the popularity of the original shows, has given the adaptations far more resources and promotions than other projects, with the intention being that they can fill the void left by Stranger Things’ finale.
