There are a lot of great thriller movies released today, both with theatrical releases and on streaming. However, as good as many of these films are, few come close to the brilliance of the run of thriller releases in the 1990s. That decade featured movies that told stories meant to keep viewers on the edge of their seats, often with twists and turns that no one saw coming. Today's thrillers are about moral complexity and dangerous situations, while the 1990s focused more on plotting, craft, and acting talent.
