The series had endured for decades under a dedicated weekly release model, but finally opted for a seasonal change-up as it cruised into the Elbaph Arc in Spring 2026. Despite this latest change showing their doubling down on keeping the adaptation laser-focused on covering Eiichiro Oda's epic, keeping animation quality strong, and reducing strain on its production staff. Previously, the answer to allowing canon episodes to shine without the anime overtaking the manga, was filler.
