Morgan Gillory (Kaitlin Olson), the titular high potential intellectual, began working with the LAPD at the beginning of the series on the condition that Lieutenant Selena Soto (Judy Reyes) would help find her first husband, Roman. According to Morgan, Roman vanished 15 years prior to High Potential, but she’d never been able to prove his disappearance was anything other than her husband abandoning her and their daughter, Ava (Amirah J).
