With Ridley Scott planning a return to the Alien franchise, Katherine Waterston is weighing in on potentially reprising her Alien: Covenant character. Waterston starred in the 2017 sequel as Daniels, the chief of terraforming of the titular colony ship who, while investigating a distress signal, discovers the deluded android David and his experiments that lead to the creation of the Xenomorph. Though the franchise has continued in the years since, the divisive response to Alien: Covenant has led to the story largely moving away from the prequel trilogy arc Scott had planned.
