Some actors have been known to criticize their own TV shows, especially TV shows that get worse as they continue. The fact is, Hollywood is a difficult and competitive business and actors may take roles to get their careers off the ground that they are not particularly proud of later on. However, it is also possible that the actor genuinely believed the show in question was worthwhile, but the writers took the story in directions they (and sometimes also the critics) didn't approve of.
