Whether it be the soup and eggs in a Ghibli movie or an elaborate bento box-lunch from a slice-of-life series, few things look more appetizing than a good meal in food-related anime. Given this, it's no surprise that there is an abundance of quality food-related anime series. Many anime take inspiration from food to inform their characters, for example, Tokyo Mew Mew based its core characters on food items such as strawberries, lettuce, and pudding.
