J.J. Abrams is reportedly in talks with Jenna Ortega and Glen Powell for his next film. While Ortega and Powell are among Hollywood's fastest-rising stars in recent years, with projects including the Netflix hit series Wednesday and the box office juggernaut Top Gun: Maverick, this would be Abrams' first film since the 2019 release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Powell most recently starred in Twisters, while Ortega plays Lydia Deetz' daughter Astrid in the upcoming and long-awaited Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
