Tim Allen's latest ABC sitcom, Shifting Gears, has received a major production update. The stand-up comedian's acting career began with his role as Tim "The Toolman" Taylor on Home Improvement, which aired on ABC for eight seasons from 1991 to 1999, and he teamed up with the network again for Last Man Standing, which aired for six seasons before being canceled by ABC in 2017, only to be later picked up by Fox for an additional three seasons. Now, Allen is reuniting with ABC for a third sitcom, Shifting Gears, which was originally ordered to pilot back in March.
