The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has all but confirmed that the Stranger is Gandalf, and I'll be really frustrated if season 2 continues to needlessly beat around the bush. In season 1, there were some heavy hints that the mysterious being who fell from the sky into the laps of Harfoots was Sauron, but this was only a red herring. Instead, Halbrand was revealed to be the Dark Lord, and the ominous hints surrounding the Stranger shifted to imply he is Gandalf. All that Rings of Power season 2 has to do is definitively confirm, but I get the feeling it won't.
