The Mad Max franchise has evolved over the course of time, and ranking George Miller's movies from worst to best creates a clear hierarchy in terms of their quality. The Australian director launched what is now considered to be one of the better action movie franchises in 1979 with the original low-budget film starring Mel Gibson.
