Seven years after the last movie in the franchise, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is finally coming to movie theaters, but there are some key points which fans should remember before watching. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes features a new cast and a new story, since the movie takes place roughly 300 years after the events of War for the Planet of the Apes. However, although director Wes Ball has said that people don't need to see the first three films to enjoy the fourth one, the trailer shows some callbacks to the franchise's past.
