Leslye Headland, the showrunner for The Acolyte, said that her new series is set to contain tons of references to the history of Star Wars, and that they'll act as the perfect homage to the galaxy's 47-year history. The upcoming Star Wars show is groundbreaking in several ways. The Acolyte's story is set to focus, at least partially, on dark side Force users, and it will be set during the High Republic era, which has never been seen in live-action before. Though it will break new ground for the franchise, it's also set to pay its respects to the Star Wars stories that have come before.
