The CW is a relatively young American television channel, but in its lifespan, it has given a platform to some incredibly popular shows. The CW was first broadcast in 2006 as the successor to UPN, or the United Paramount Network, and The WB. The network was a new home for shows that were founded by it's two parent companies, CBS and Warner Bros. which is actually how it derives it's name by using the initials of both companies.
