The Nightsisters had a rich and well-established history in the Star Wars Legends continuity, but were drastically reimagined for the modern canon in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, a series that served as the vanguard for the modern canon before its official start in 2014. The modern canon’s Nightsisters play a significant role in numerous Star Wars properties, tying into the origins of Darth Maul and Asajj Ventress.
