Horror might be the genre that is meant to scare us, but there are few things more terrifying than a great dystopian TV series, which often hits close enough to home that episodes become nightmare fuel for years to come. The Last of Us reminded many of us of the spread of the 2020 pandemic, Severance offers a glimpse of a world in which corporations are the dominant force, and The Handmaid's Tale serves as a warning about the results of allowing fascism and misogyny to take hold.
